They may offer programs similar to a trade school and are typically cheaper than universities. Degrees offered at community colleges can be used to enter the workforce after graduation or to obtain a Bachelor\u2019s degree at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why consider community college?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lower cost, faster start. Two years (or less) to employable skills; stay local to cut housing costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201c2+2\u201d transfer is simple. Finish gen-eds, then transfer to a university via the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). MTU recognizes the MTA for general-ed blocks.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitransfer.org\/michigan-transfer-agreement?utm_source=chatgpt.com\"> <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/mitransfer.org\">mitransfer.org<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitransfer.org\/michigan-transfer-agreement?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">+1<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on training that local employers hire from. Easier to work part-time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pathways to apprenticeships.
