What is College
College is typically where people go after high school to study a specific form of education and to intern and get a degree to go into the work force.
Trade Schools
Trade schools are focused on providing students specific skills that can be directly applied to a career in certain fields, called the trades. Common trades include agriculture, repairs, automotive technology, and natural resources. Typically you would earn a certificate that can be used to get jobs in your field.
Community Colleges
A community college offers Associate’s degrees. They may offer programs similar to a trade school. Community colleges are typically
cheaper than universities. Degrees offered at community colleges can be used to enter the workforce after graduation or to obtain a
Bachelor’s degree at a later date.
University
A university is an educational institution that offers programs in a wide variety of subjects. They typically offer bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees. Universities are usually what people think of when they hear “college.”

They also talked about apprenticeships an how good they could be. They mentioned how they could help build your resume and gain relationships towards a specific field of work due to your mentor/mentee relationship. They also talked about how their goal was to be civically engaged in the western Upper Peninsula community.
